Do you have a factory 2" lift block on the rear axle? It would be a block shaped piece inbetween the axle tube and the leaf spring.

If so, you should be fine as a 1-2" lift for the front would level the truck out.

If not, you have a couple options:

The easiest would be two purchase and install a 2" lift block.

You could also purchase a set of Chevy drop shackles. The tech article is located here: http://fordranger.net/index.php?page=11

They are the cheapest route and actually come on 4x4 Rangers from factory, so they are definitely safe!

Could you get a pic from the back side of your rear axle (under the truck)? This way I'll be able to tell you if your truck has blocks or not. The picture makes it difficult to tell since it's somewhat on an angle. It looks like it's not higher in the rear, so my guess is you don't have them.

I found this on eBay. Looks to be a factory set (actually comes with three, but you only need two). And they're less than $50 shipped!

Well, if he doesn't have anything lifting the rear, the truck will sit higher in the front.

I would really recommend installing the lift keys and seeing how it sits at that point. You may like the look and decide against lifting the back. Then, if you still want it higher in the back, go with the lift blocks.

ive seen some of the kit lift the front higher for some odd ass reason. the kit a friend got for his 2500 hd lifted the front higher then the back did i gave him a load leveling it help a lot till he took on a load.lol

It looks as though you have a 1" block in the rear (actually didn't know those even existed).

With the leveling kit, you will probably be sitting pretty good. I say get that sucker installed and post up the pics!

Three different things you could try:

Cheapest:
Larger lift blocks

Cheap:
Chevy drop shackles (since Chevy's shackles are inverted from Fords, a drop shackle will lift a ford)

Not so cheap:
Replacement rear leaf springs or an add-a-leaf

I would personally recommend the drop shackles. They can be purchased from eBay.

Search for "Chevy Drop Shackles".

If you go for the shackles, the 2" drop shackles are the ones you're looking for. I would make sure and message the seller and make sure they are 2.5" wide.

The adjustable shackles usually give you a couple options (1" or 2"). But they usually cost about $15-20 more.
