How to lower my front end

Alright I've got a 95 single cab 2wd i4 with a five speed manual trans. I already know how I'm going to lower the rear(put leaf springs below axle, and add a 2" drop block with extended u-bolts to reach) but I'm not sure how to go about dropping the front. I though about cutting down my coil springs but I was told that could affect ride quality. Also want to stay away from the spring compressors(have head many bad things about them) any suggestions or input is welcomed and appreciated
