how easy is it to put a 302 into a 2004 ranger?

i bought a 302 from a buddy for 80 buck now how easy are they to install or should i leave my ranger a 4.0 v6

2003 FX4 LEVEL II

leave it . find a first gen put it there. v8 first gen 4x4 are way to much fun , just ask me ill tell you about it >:?

Yes I agree with Sloue I have been looking but I can't find a 4x4. I may have to make it 4x4. Some day that is my goal :knight:

It wouldn't be impossible (check out rwenzing's profile) but it would be much easier for clearance and adaptability issues if you were to put the 302 in a GenI Ranger (83-88 model).

damn lol anyone want a 302 for 80 bucks lol it sure would look sweet as shit in my truck and sound amazing i was going to bore it out too but oh well i guess

yeah, the only issue with 302's in the newer Rangers are that you need to get a new transmission, rewire alot of crap, and then the engine compartment is a pretty tight fit.
