Title: ranger 4x4 disengaged
Post by: lifted_99ranger on January 08, 2010, 03:54:30 PM: ok so i bought a new ranger and i would like to no how to disengage the 4x4 u turn it to 4wheel drive on the fly from neutral then u put it back in from neutral to 2wd now people said im suppose to go in reverse to disengage it completely is that true or no? please let me no -pat

Post by: PlumCrazy on January 11, 2010, 04:30:54 PM: You can shift in and out of 4hi on the fly. as long as you are going under 25 and arent on the gas it will shift flawlessly. To go into 4lo put the truck in neutral and shift into 4 lo then put the truck into gear.

Yes, I believe AVM makes a set for the 98+ Rangers
