180 degree thermostat
« on: April 07, 2010, 01:06:29 PM »
So I finally got around to putting the 180 degree thermostat in.  It was a very easy swap and after a few good runs it is running quite a bit cooler.  This summer is gonna be hotter that usual so hopefully it keeps the truck feelin good!  Heres some pics of the install.

Getting to it

Didnt drain it.  That stuff is too expensive to drain and replace when it only has 10,000 miles on it.

The old one, dirty!

Old on the left and new on right

The new one is a bit taller also

haha. well just looking at the temp gauge it is showing the truck running a little cooler.  It is probably running 20 degrees cooler.  Just checked the thermometer for the temp here and its 96 degrees.  Its gonna be a hot summer so im happy i put in the lower temp thermostat.

Thanks!   I did that a while back and it really adds something with the form emblem I thought.

The ford emblem is actually an emblem I ordered.  Its like a flexible gel emblem that is thick too.  2 came in the pack of them.
