Title: What brand motor oil do you use?

Just curious... what brand of oil do you use? I usually go with either Castrol GTX High Mileage...

Royal Purple is AMAZING!!!

With RP I do it every 5,000 cuz its a much stronger oil and you can truely feel the difference! Much faster revs and more power. Soon im gonna put RP in the rear differential also.

I havent heard anything about it in a while...

I am running Synthetic Valvoline in the rear diff, and Synblend Valvoline in the front diff. Was running full synthetic Mobile 1 ATF in the trans'/tcase, but it allowed the syncros to slip too much. I am just running plain old NAPA ATF now, but I am going to change it for some Mobile 1 0w-30 soon. It does better with lubricating a gear box (like the M50D) than an ATF fluid can (since ATF is a hydraulic fluid).

i didnt hear about that... what brand was it? the 2011 mustang V6 and GT will only need a oil change every 10,000 miles due to a new oil pan design...

My grandpa has been using it for years. I trust his opinion (35+ years in mechanics).

sorry to tell you workdog but your grandpa is way off and i suggest you stop using it (pennzoil) right away its a fact that it clogs all of the oil journals in the crank and sticks to the sides of piston, oil pan,vavle covers heads, and you name it. your are better off running walmart or even a k mart brand or really glue cuz thats what it turns into.

as far as what i run i love royle purple its amazing stuff. i how ever run mobile 1 or valvoline if it leaks lots of oil then i run walmart or the cheapest i can find. the only one i try to keep ppl away from is pennzoil lol i have seen what it can do and its not nice at all its the reason my 5.0 is bonk and needing a full rebuild.

Not a Pennzoil fan but ive personally never used it. My fiance used to use it but i got her using Quaker State synthetic now just like what i used to use before Royal Purple.

Post by: workdog on December 27, 2009, 12:51:45 AM: I love Valvoline. I use it in everything from racecars (Oldsmobiles), to Rangers, to my scooters. Even my lawn mower runs on Valvoline Conventional 10W-30.

IF YOU NOW WHAT I MEAN. and you wont have to go far i should be in new jersey and boston and around that area from the 8 to the 15 lol have to go install mirrors there

i agree AMSOIL it cost a little bit more but its great oil

Post by: Redshad on April 08, 2010, 01:20:07 AM: Pennzoil and quakerstate are the same oil read the back of the bottle, Castrol edge used with a Fram Tough Guard filter is recommended for 15,000, RP for 12,000 with their filter, Mobil 1 12,000 with their filter. Thats if your using full synthetic. Do not use Rp in older model vehicles that have some oil leaks already because the leak will only get worse. Rp is meant to clean and condition, not be lumpy and fill in the leak.

pennzoil and qstate are not the same oil bro i have ran q state with no prob at all and every motor i have been in that ran pennzoil have been turned to shit.

im getting ready to try the mobile 1 cuz there is a good price on it at the zone
