ok from what it looks like your still alil confussed as to what you want to do and the easy easy easy way to do this is to swap the entire expo into your truck. find a 2x4 expo 94 and put the whole dash motor trans rear end every thing in your truck

You shouldnt have to touch anything in the cab. There is a big plug on the firewall, just unplug and pull the whole harness out of the engine bay (ecu included) then drop the 4.0 harness in and plug in in (with new ecu). All the interior wiring is the same.

i think this plan will be a much better deal for you in the long run than a v8 lots of time for you to stuff a v8 itto some thing,,,,, like,,,,, a gen 1... got to keep em alive

The only year that Aerostars came with the fast burn combustion chamber was 97, so any pre 97 Aerostar 4.0 is perfect for a swap into a pre 95 Ranger. You will still need to get the wiring harness from a Ranger/Exploder.
