Swapping front beams
« on: February 09, 2010, 05:12:11 AM »
I've been thinking of swapping  a d-35 + 8.8 from a '91 4x4 with 114" wheelbase to a '86 2x4 with a 125" wheelbase. How bad will this affect my steering. The truck will be used mainly for towing. Other option is to put the '86 cab on the '91 frame,  might be less work?
Thanks,Richard

moved this to the suspension forum, and if you want to convert the 86 to 4x4, then you will have to change the engine crossmember out for a 4x4 one because it dont have the same axle monuts as the 4x4 beams
