That, i my opinion, is a very complicated way to wire up a simple goal/ task. My schematic, which i have used on 8 customer cars thus far, is the simplest way with the most control. It is cool that you can wire it into courtesy lights and/ or headlight control switches and relays but customers want the control of turning them on whenever they like to.
Now if you use the right LEDs, which would be Streetglow due to the low electricity necessity, then you do not need to wire straight to a battery terminal. In a Ranger it is very easy and simple to tap into the + and - wires of the cig ligter. The cig lighter is always powered and provides enough power to handle all 40 of my LED strip and undercar kit for 6 hours. That 6 hours is with the truck off in a show, stock battery, and starts right up. Right from the power source (cig lighter) you go straight into your simple switch setup. Its that easy, which is easy enough to fit onto one page in drawing and paragraph format and easy enough to maintain, add onto if wished, and give the customer exactly what they want.
When it comes to LED setups and all electricity setups I have found that the more simple you keep it the better it is due to less room for error and its just plain easier to do it simple instead of complicated with the same outcome... Just my 2 cents on my own business work.
