Biggest tire I can put on my ranger w/o getting it lifted?
« on: March 07, 2010, 10:33:35 PM »
Hey there, I have a 1995 ford ranger xlt, the wheels right now are tiny: 215 70 R15. Just wondering if anyone knows how big of a tire I can get on there w/o lifting the truck. I'm definitely willing to put spacers on there if need be. Thanks, any advice would be awesome.

is your truck a 2wd or 4wd?

My 97 4x4 had 31x10.50's on it when I got it, but they scrubbed just a bit. If you have a 2wd, I would say go no bigger than 30"

Since he has 15's I am going to assume 4x4, so a 31 would be limit.   They fit nice, but will touch the sway bar at full lock.

So 15" = 4x4, does 14" = 2x4? good to know.

Yes I would agree 30 or 31.

The older 4x2's were normally 14's, but after 1995 15's came on both 4x2 and 4x4.  Stock RBV 14's wont fit over the front hubs on a TTB 4x4, nor will they fit over calipers on a disc brake 8.8.
