Does anyone have one? My neighbor gave me a part to one, and said i would need to get one. Are they very useful?

Apparently you can winch with one. The jack is fairly cheap but the accessories are not.

i've never had to use mine either but it is good to have one on the trails for a few reasons. 1). jacking up your rig if you get a flat. 2). they can be used as a come-a-long if you dont have a winch. 3). the only time i have used one was to jack my truck up to put my coil spring back in after it popped out. you should also always carry some sort of base to put the jack on to make it more stable. i made mine out of 2x4's.

i have one and i love it a i use it a lot when out wheel you can winch with it but its very slow going. ive used it to pop beads on tire's to clean the rocks out my beads change tire's change axle's put springs back into lift my truck up out of hole's and push it over to good ground or to put logs or rocks under your tire's you can use them as a clamp or a spreader. its a very good thing to have. very use full.

I think ill buy one. And when my rig is running, and i go wheeling i may get the winch kit, which makes it faster. It may be slow winching, but it saves a grand i dont have to put into a winch. Do you ever use it to just lift your truck onto stands to work on?

i love my high lifts there the best in the offroad but if its soft dirt/mud/sand you  need a bigger base for sure 2x4 are perfect

Yea i as alread planning on making something.

I called high lift and a rep told me i would need two, because it would not be stable enough with one, to climb under and put stands. How can i make it more stable without buying two?

Then sombody else told me not to use bumper jacks, the will "rip your bumper off". Is this true?

ive lifted mine up with no problems as long as your doing it on stable ground you should be fine (just use common sense). but if your working on it at home and wont to jack it up and put jack stands under it just use a floor jack. a high lift is more of a emergency jack. two would be nice but then you need to haul around another jack and i havent seen any one out here on the trails that have two.

Then sombody else told me not to use bumper jacks, the will "rip your bumper off". Is this true?

if your bumpers are ready to fall off then yes it most likely will but if there in decent shape or you build your own or you have after market bumper's then no. ive never ripped one of.
